Technical Surveyor

You will be joining a unique and rapidly growing conservatory manufacturer taking responsibility for providing technical surveys to customers remotely across England and Wales.

Using a variety of tools, you will work closely with the customer to ensure:
- Accurate measurements of the new conservatory
- Identify any technical errors or problems with customer orders
- Draw up a detailed specification for the new conservatory
- Prepare a full installation schedule
- Identify relevant issues about the construction of the building, against which the conservatory is to be installed, including the area or base on which the conservatory is to stand, as well as issues with drains, electrics, gas, water, telephone cables, alarms etc.
- Produce a full set of detailed drawings for each contract, including installation instructions.
- Use the company’s manufacturing software systems to prepare bills of materials, ready for manufacturing.

To Be successful, you will need to have the following skills/experience:
- Ideally you will have good knowledge and experience in the construction and installation of conservatories
- Be fully capable of undertaking the surveying of conservatories, in line with industry practice.
- Have good communication skills, particularly when explaining technical issues to non-technical customers, via phone, email etc.
- Have a good understanding and experience in computer software operation
- Be ready and willing to work remotely from the customer without visiting the customer’s property.
- It would be an advantage, although not a necessity, to have experience in using Window and Conservatory software.
- Candidates from outside the conservatory industry with experience in Technical Design using AutoCAD may also be considered.
